Sunningdale Maintenance Ltd was established back in 1958 by Mr Leonard Pipe a local house builder,brickmaker and farmer. It was set up primarily to carry out repairs and refurbishment to property owned by him and his family. Over the years it has been run closely with the associated company Rushmere Garden Esates Ipswich Ltd a local housebuilder and developer. The present managing director Clive Cobbold was engaged as a young man when leaving school in 1969 and has been the managing director for over 20 years. Mr James Pipe, son of the founder, is also a director although he takes no part in the day to day running of the business. All work is personally managed and supervised by Clive Cobbold and office administration is dealt with by Irene Cobbold who has worked in the organisation for over 20 years. We have a small directly employed workforce of apprentice trained and long serving tradesmen led by foreman Jason Smith who also commenced working for us some 25 years ago.

The name Sunningdale Maintenance Ltd may be misleading as while we are pleased to carry out minor repairs and routine maintenance the business is engaged mainly on higher quality domestic extensions and refurbishments with occasional new build and development works. Whilst we work to achieve complete customer satisfaction and top quality workmanship at all times this means that sometimes we are not the cheapest builders available. We are delighted to work for many repeat customers and in some cases have worked for more than one generation.

Some 12 years ago we set up a bespoke joinery business which is run in premises next to our office in Felixstowe Road. Much of our work is manufactured for other builders but we are pleased to offer a service to private customers who may require a one off item. We will willingly produce from a single piece of profiled timber through windows, doors and frames,staircases,glazed screens, counters, shelf units etc in a range of soft or hardwoods. Preservative treatment,priming,glazing,painting and of course delivery and site installation can also be arranged.
